Uses of Prepositions

I tried these flashcards and, boy, where they hard. There are a couple of problems other than my lack of my lack of knowledge. In the recognize section, often the correct answer appears more than once. For example, Cause a) en b) de c) por d) de. When I clicked on d) de, I got an incorrect, presumably because the program thinks the answer is b) de.

The same thing happens in some of the listening section. The word may be "a" but there is more than one answer for which "a" is correct. If I pick the "wrong" one I get an incorrect.

Recall is okay except that the last letters or word of the phrase is hidden behide the "stats box". There may not be any way to fix that.

In spite of the problems this is a very useful set of flashcards. Thanks, astreet5, for your efforts.

The problem is not one that alerting the administrators will help. This is a user created flashcard set. Users can create the flashcard sets however they want. I have seen ones where both sides are in English (and someone's biology homework, not Spanish homework).

Here is a recent thread where we all asked that users pay a little more attention when they create them and all our suggestions for how to best make a usable set.

Nonetheless, users are free to create the sets the way they want, and you have to look at the list and just decide if it is worth it to you to do it. I do some of them knowing that I am going to be in that trap, but since we don't get monitored on the percentage right we get, if i choose "(a) to have" and the right answer turns out to be "(c) to have" (because one was put in for tener and one for haber), I don't worry about it, because I know I got it right. Some of them are created so badly you cannot use them at all however, and many are created in a way that has inconsistency in pluralization and use of articles to such an extent that the recall section cannot be done.

I wish I knew how to get people to do them right, but one can always make one's own (and mine are not perfect either) - Stadt, Dec 13, 2010
