Asking a girl out in Spanish

Asking a girl out in Spanish

2
votes

I used Google to learn how to ask a girl out in Spanish, and I found this website. I saw that there have been posts from people helping a guy named Bryan with a similar problem. The only exception is, the girl I want to ask out is single, so I don't want to ask her using the same words Bryan did. I do wish to compliment her on how great and cute she is, but I don't know how a Spanish speaking person would phrase something like this. The key item that I need to know is how to ask her out in Spanish. Can anyone give me an idea?

Because there are people who come to this site to learn English, it is important for native English-speakers to use correct grammar, punctuation and spelling.

I am going to edit your question, so that you can see what it should look like.

Out of consideration to those English learners, you might want to correct your question accordingly.

p.s. Good luck in the matters of love.

I did link one. Just enter salir con into the search engine for previous threads.

salir

  1. to go out (ser novios) (con with)

están saliendo -> they are going out (together)

I don't know...maybe I'm a bit too practical. If there is this girl you like and you don't even know enough of her language to even talk to her on the most basic level, what are you going to talk about on your date if she says "yes"? How will you know if you like anything about her excpet for her looks? This entire plan seems a bit ill-conceived, unless you can find a Spanish-speaking friend that you can double date with that won't mind acting as an interpreter all night.

But if I were you, I'd go back to the drawing board...

I suppose that i would try something like:

¿Quieres ir al cine conmigo?

That seems to be pretty effective...

We've had similar threads if you care to read them. The basic question is

¿Quieres salir conmigo?

As for the rest, you are on your own.

Hmmm... in Spain, this is for < 20 years old. - cogumela, Nov 16, 2010
Or if you want to make her feel young again? Flattery is sometimes appreciated. - 0074b507, Nov 16, 2010

If the threads that have been suggested to you aren't enough, you can always google "Spanish pick up lines" or "Spanish romantic quotes". I am sure thousands of websites will pop up! You have a great translation tool on this site if you are unsure of just how accurate the quotes of the other websites are. You can also use the tool to just play around with and edit the quotes from other sites in order to make them unique to you. Even if you don't say it perfectly, I am sure she will still be flattered by your attempt. Sometimes it's the thought that counts. wink ¡Suerte!
