This is distinguishing "ir" from "irse". "Ir" means "to go (somewhere)" and includes or at least implies a specific destination. "Irse" means "to leave", with the destination not stated or not important. So when you conjugate the verbs, you need to add "me", "te", etc. in the front of the conjugate form of "irse". So: I am leaving = Me voy;; You are leaving = te vas, etc.
