I have some medical instructions that read: "..... y a pretarle hasta que salga toda el agua y quede adentro........" I am wondering what pretarle means and whether i might be reading it wrong.

It's a mispelling...the a should be attached to the verb apretar to squeeze...and squeeze it until all the water comes out and collects (stays) inside...Welcome to the forum.

Apretarle, to press it, to squeeze.

Does apretarle make sense or should it be apretarlo or apretarla? Where are you from? It's nice to have you in the forum. - alba3, Sep 23, 2010

I agree... I was wondering how the "le" made sense there - alba3, Sep 23, 2010
...but then again, cogumela says apretarle and I think she's a native - alba3, Sep 23, 2010
In Spain, for instance, they mix pronouns :-P, and in Central America too, not so often - mediterrunio, Sep 23, 2010
