'Tú' is a informal word for 'you', and 'usted' is a formal word for 'you'

(Formal and informal words are used while speaking, informal words are to be used with people you know and friends or family, formal words are to be used with people that are of higher rank of you, strangers, teachers, and people you look up to.)

Exactly but you didn't put this into practice in your first post you mixed the two by saying¿Cómo se llamas? meant what is your name? - kenwilliams, Sep 16, 2010

¿Cómo se llamas? means "Whats you name?"

¿y tú? means "And you?"

¿Cómo está Usted? means "How are you?"
