What is the difference between using Yo Soy and Soy

They mean the same thing so why use one over the other? Like Yo soy alto but I could also say Soy alto so what is the difference?

Because Yo = I
Soy = I am

so you can use yo soy, but it is not necessary, but Yo can still be used for allot of other sentences. Hope this helps!

Hi Roz ,

I will tell you a very good advice never ever use subject pronouns Including ( yo ) because the verbs on Spanish already tells you who is doing the verb by the conjugation on the verb , so :soy alto is the right answer but : yo soy alto is wrong , for examples check this link it will help you a lot grin

When to use "subject pronoun" in Spanish: yo, tú, él, ella....?

On the one hand, there is none. They both mean the same thing.

On the other hand, it's a matter of emphasis. By adding the subject pronoun "yo" you're stressing that you really are tall and the other person should believe you.
