A - Z Same word (or almost the same) both languages

I often look for a translation of an English word, only to find that its almost, or even exactly the same in Spanish.

I think it would be helpful to know some of the easiest words to learn.

So lets make an A - Z game out it.

Normal rules, click on "newest", follow the alphabet.

Add both language versions, with any spelling variations, accents etc. ( estación for example. )

Add any further comments, or an example sentence, or a picture if you wish.

A acceptable. ¿Es este juego aceptable? Is this game acceptable?

If you ask for a sample sentence then you need someone proficient in Spanish to correct them., i.e., you need a moderator. - --Mariana--, Jul 9, 2010
Tricky! By the way, "Acceptable" is "Aceptable" in Spanish. Only one "c" - Gekkosan, Jul 9, 2010
I checked it looking for an accent, and missed the c ! Proving my own point. - fontanero, Jul 9, 2010
Remember!, "suspición" is *not* a word. :) - MeEncantanCarasSonrisas, Jul 9, 2010

Because "mirar" is to look at, I don't think you need the "a" after "mirar." - --Mariana--, Jul 12, 2010

parroquial (adj) en inglés con una solo "r" parochial.

Most words that are similar and in which there is a double letter in English have only a single letter in Spanish. I refer to words such as the very first one, "acceptable", which is "aceptable" en español.

But this word is just the opposite - two "r's" in Spanish and only one in English. I was surprised.
