Translation of "Monitorearse"

I translated a document into spanish and my software translated the sentence "You should monitor one another for heat illness symptoms" as "Deben monitorearse de sintomas de calor." When I conducted a spell check, however, it shows the word monitorearse as a mis-spelled word. Is this correct?

Monitorear is a valid verb, but it is apparently used mostly in American Spanish. I think seguir would serve your purpose better (I could be wrong, though, as I am not a native Spanish speaker).

So, possibly...

Deben seguirse de sintomas de calor.

This site spells the verb (especially when using an electronic monitor) as monitorizar

monitor

monitorizar.

(De monitor2 e -izar).

  1. tr. Observar mediante aparatos especiales el curso de uno o varios parámetros fisiológicos o de otra naturaleza para detectar posibles anomalías.
