my name comes before hers on the list -> mi nombre está or va antes que el de ella en la lista

I do not understand "or va" above, and this sentence is really confusing, can someone explain. I looked it up under the English "come" and they did show venir which is the verb I was looking for.

My name is or goes before hers on the list.

They are using synonyms for to come to show the meaning of come in that particular context.

You looked up the English word "come" so it is trying to show the meaning of "come" in that context. Notice that all of the definitions start with a phrase containing "come" and then use the best Spanish synonym (venir or not) to explain its meaning in that context.

If you would have looked the Spanish word "venir" then it would show examples of how to use "venir" in a sentence. Notice all of the definitions begin with a phrase containing "venir" and then use the best English synonym (come or not) to explain the context.

come

venir

Something goes before something else, but comes after something when talking about position.

The girls came after the boy in line.

The boy goes before the girls in line.
