I am looking for more practice with gerunds...

Hi,

I am working on the lesson regarding gerunds and would like a little more practice. I tried to find gerunds in the reference section and couldn't find them. I am probably not looking in the right place. Any suggestions? Gracias. Lucrecia

Here's the article on gerunds in the reference section, and here is another from Spanish.about.com.

¡Buena suerte!

Gracias. This is great. I was particularly struggling with gerunds as adverbs and describing continuous actions. This helps a lot! - Lucrecia, Mar 28, 2010

Gerunds -Gerundios In english the gerund is the structure of a phrase to where the verb has the"ing" at the end without any conjugation of "to be". For instance:Working as an attendant in a fancy hotel is fun. In this case -working- has been placed in the gerund form, because it is not combined with "to be". The equivalent in spanish for this form is the gerundio and unlike in english that adds the "ing" to all verb in order to make it the gerund,in the spanish language it is the "ando" the verbs that end on "ar",and the "iendo" for the verbs that end on either "er"or "ir". example:Trabajar-Trabajando./Comer-Comiendo/escribir-escribiendo

I don't know about reference section. I can give you some tips

English: -ing Spanish: -ando when the infinitive verb finishes in -ar -iendo when the inf. verb finishes in -er or -ir
