Bajo can mean short, or low (elevation) or low (volume). It has other meanings too but these are the most common.

Try out the dictionary at the top of the page and you'll see that bajo has a lot of meanings. It will also depend on whether it is being used as a noun or adjective.

yes, bajo means short. Whenever you have a dispute over the meaning of a word, go to a dictionary. :D

One can hardly decide who's right if you fail to tell us what you and your teacher supplied as translations.

"bajo" can also be used as the present tense "yo" form of the verb "bajar".
