Use of word como
I thought como meant how? But when I put in this sentence: Como tengo alas puedo volar! It says I have wings and can fly! What word is como?

This intrigued me to look into it an learn (I am a beginner so...)
When I put this in the translator I got in return
As I have wings I can fly!<
The word como in this sentence is as.
Sounds like part of a riddle the way the sentence is worded.
Don't know if this helps but it was an interesting lesson on my part.
Cómo means how.
Como means like/as. The dictionary also said "como - so that", maybe that explains it.
como can also be transalted as like, as in:
Como agua para chocolate = Like water for chocolate

Here's the dictionary meaning of como.
I think this sentence means: Since/If I have wings, I can fly.
I looked up "as" in this dictionary. Down in the middle of the page it mentions "como" and defines como as "because"
So many words, so many meanings and so little time.
Como.
"como" almost always means "like", "how" or "as", but there are a few other meanings it can be.
