Why did the offensive post get deleted?
i ask a question about the word***********and it gone. i want to know how to say in spanish. i know it like negro**********. is there a meaning?

If this is a learning site there should be no censorship. If somebody is using bad language just to be offensive that is one thing...but if they are asking what it means or how to say it in another language, that's learning.
I agree that this is a learning site; however, as to the question censorship, I would say that opinions are likely to vary regarding what is appropriate vs inappropriate learning material. For example, you may feel that it is unwarranted censorship to disallow a third grade student to write a dissertation on the examples of the usage of swear words in his community. On the other hand, the child's parents or his classmates parents might take an opposite position. Neither of these opinions; however, would be relevant to what is appropriate for this particular site. The only thing that is relevant here is whether the content of a post conforms to the guidelines of this forum which clearly state:
3. Keep your content clean and appropriate
Do not post offensive material (language, videos, usernames, pictures, etc.). Questions or Answers with offensive content will be deleted as this is a "family-oriented" forum and should be appropriate for all age levels. If you feel that for a correct translation you need to use "certain" words, avoid being explicit and use symbols (@#¢) to avoid spelling the entire word
This is a learning site. That's why censorship is a necessity. The words JuanCarlos wants translated are offensive, whether he knows that or not. The concept of "censorship" is often taken way out of context by US citizens. The world wide community is not required to be exposed to offensive or abusive language simply because someone says "censorship".
And it will go away again. This is a learning site and offensive language of any kind is not tolerated. Sorry but those are the rules. You are more than welcome to ask reasonable questions here.
Vincente, I agree to a point but I'm not let something like that go without flagging.There is no way of knowing if it is a legitimate question without discussing it with the person involved so I sent him a pm. I found it difficult to belive the words in question were unknown to him so I questioned him on it. In the meantime, someone with more priveledge than I saw fit to delete the post. Sorry if you disagree but it is in the rules.
I have tried every dirty word I can think of and they are all in the dictionary here on SpanishDict. If anyone wants another source to look up dirty words, the Urban Dictionary is the place to go. I cannot see any reason to post these words on the site when the explanation is readily available in dictionaries.

Este foro ha tomado el camino de abrir un foro "familiar", en el que tenemos muchos niños de colegio y el propósito de este foro es mantener un tono apropiado para todas las edades. Como es normal, no se admiten preguntas con claro contenido sexual, ofensivas (aunque sean preguntas para saber las palabras en español simplemente), racistas etc.
Ya que hay muchos foros que sí contestan ese tipo de preguntas, el creador y sus aministradores no vemos la necesidad de admitir preguntas de este tipo.
Espero que esto sea de tu agrado también

Considering your reasons I do not disagree with the policy...although I suspect that the high school kids you are trying to protect could teach you a lot about offensive language...but I respect the intent of the forum and will honor the "family" atmosphere. I am also aware that there are many adults who do not tolerate "offensive" language as I, myself, do not like gratuitous obscenity. I think though that any post like the one in question should be handled courteously without assuming that the poster knows that the words he/she is writing are unacceptable. That is always a problem when we have posters with limited language abilities so I would prefer to err on the side of courtesy when telling them that their post cannot be allowed, as I'm sure you would agree.
I agree with all the posts before mine, but I'd like to add... your title is "Why did the offensive post get deleted?" If you knew it was offensive, why did you post it? It is the job of the administrators to make sure offensive posts are kept off of the site.
Vincent, These were hate words which I feel strongly against but I did feel it might have been a legitimate question. I've been a construction worker for over 35 years so trust me, I've heard it all and it would take a lot to offend me but I felt it had to be removed before subjecting anyone else who may be offended by it. Something I would hope you would also do. That is why I flagged him, edited the post, and immediately pm'd him to explain the meanings and rules. I think it was a fairly simple process which seems to have gotten off the track. In defense of calvoviejo, this was not a small child, it was a teenager who I'm sure, regardless of his nationality has heard the terms before and probably knew to some degree that they weren't good but just didn't realize how derrogatory they really were. Believe me, he knows now! I hope this eases your mind a bit more on the subject of this particular degree of censorship on the forum. Gary

If the poster didn't know the meaning of the words how can you be offended? Words are just words...it is their intent by the writer or speaker that offends or not. If a small child asks "What does **** mean?", are you offended?
The mere writing or speaking of a word by an innocent is not offensive. It is what is in your mind that makes it so.

I believe you...you welcomed me to the forum Heidita and that is proof enough that you will let ANYBODY in. 
As Heidi has removed the offensive words I have now removed the flag. The good thing for juancarlos is that as he didn´t have any reputation points he was not deducted 10 point for the flagging.
if someone needs help with some offensive or unappropiate words or expressions, they always have:
- Online Dictionaries
- PMing native speakers
- Other forums
I´ ve been participating for one month in this site and I haven´t got a single complaint against the administrators.
Anyway, this subject matter will come back over and over and again since insults are too common.

We most certainly agree with this approach. We have not done anything to prevent Juancarlos from posting, I have sent him a PM too, in case he does not see the opinions given here.
We like to think this site is a friendly forum and though we do not allow this kind of language here, we do not wish to frighten anybody off.
Anybody is welcome on this site and we hope Juancarlos keeps posting.
