Salen means= they or you (plural) leave or they are leaving, you (plural) are leaving

If you want to say you are going to some other place, use "ir".	If you want to say you are leaving from the place where you are now, use "irse".

Ir.... is voy and vas and vamos. Same word, different conjugation. It means "to go".

Salir means.... "to leave".

Could you use ir instead of salir? Of course! Just as we could use go instead of leave in English.

What time does the bus leave? What time does the bus go?

But why would we limit ourself to the word "go"? Why not also use the perfectly good word "leave" in our sentences? I think we want both!
