I would add this:

Reset, del inglés reponer o reiniciar. Se conoce como reset a la puesta en condiciones iniciales de un sistema. Este puede ser mecánico, electrónico o de otro tipo. Normalmente se realiza al conectar el mismo, aunque, habitualmente, existe un mecanismo, normalmente un pulsador (a button), que sirve para realizar la puesta en condiciones iniciales manualmente.

The only problem with this idea is that it is not listed in the dictionary on this site nor on the RAE site - Izanoni1, Nov 2, 2009
Oh, thank you! When I had looked it up before I had looked in the translator, not the dictionary, and for some reason said dictionary here.... - hlsbookworm, Nov 3, 2009

How can I reset or allow in the program of the manufacturer of a vascular reader?

Probably - How can I reset or leave the vascular reader to the manufacturer's settings?

Es un barabarismo de "reset"

It's a substandard usage based on the word "reset."

You can also double-click any word at this site and get a pop-up box with the main definition which is also a link that takes you to the entry for that word in this site's dictionary.

When, resetear is double-clicked, the pop-up indicates the meaning is reset...but there is no actual dictionary entry to confirm this.

If you follow the link that pops up when you double click the word, you will find that the word is not listed in the dictionary on this site because it is not a standard word - Izanoni1, Nov 2, 2009
Thanks. I re-edited my post to reflect this. - webdunce, Nov 2, 2009

How can I reset or leave the vascular reader to the manufacturer's settings?

That certainly makes sense, and I think you´re right. But, I still find the Spanish somewhat incomprehensible. I´m not saying it IS, I´m saying it seems that way to me.

I know what you mean, but then dejar is one of those verbs that I am still trying to get a handle on with its various usages - Izanoni1, Nov 2, 2009

como puedo resetear o dejar en la programación de fabrica de una lectora vascular

Actually, I'm lost after "How can I reset or..." I mean, I get the meanings of each of the words...but the intent of the sentence in general is lost on me.

How can I reset or allow in the program of the manufacturer of a vascular reader?

Hmmm?

How can I reset or leave in the program of the vascular reader's manufacturer?

No, that doesn't quite fit either.

Within the firmware provided by the vascular reader's manufacturer, how do I reset or take?

Not only can I not quite figure out what exactly is meant by "en la programación de fabrica de una lectora vascular", I also can´t figure out what "dejar" does in this sentence.

We manufacture a biometric device that captures an image of the vein pattern on the back of a hand. That pattern is unique in every individual. This guy is trying to reset the scanner after mucking up the initial enrollment. (I think) - joecruz100, Nov 2, 2009
