Put "gratitude" on a scale from -10 to +10.

"tan ingrató" might be rated as -5.

"poco agradecido" might be rated as +2

In other words, "tan ingrató" has a heavy negative connotation, while

"poco agradecido' has a lightly positive connotation.

Que poco agradecido eres!........ You are ungrateful. ..... Now, you get might answers like this one, you a a little ungrateful, but that is not correct. This sentence is saying that He or she is a litle ungrateful. But your sentence is saying that he or she is not grateful at all. It is a big difference. Remember that sometimes the translations from one language to another are not always exact.

Eres tan ingrató

Now this be translated to ways,.........You are so ingrateful or.......you are an ingrate.

Jim, click on "More" at the top of this page, then select "Word of the Day". There is a box on the right side where you can enter your email address to receive the word of the day. You can also have it sent to your Twitter page, if you have that. - Goyo, Oct 4, 2009
