What is the difference between "tal vez" and "quizas"?

Should I use "tal vez" or "Quizas" in a sentence like "perhaps that is why I am undertaking a high risk activity" . Thus should I write "Tal vez es por eso que estoy realizando una actividad de alto riesgo"or "Quizas es por eso que estoy realizando una actividad de alto riesgo"

Yes, you would use Tal vez here.

There isn't exactly a difference, someone else might be able to better explain to you what you could say is the "difference", and be more acurate, I will try to explain it to you.

Tal vez is used to say maybe, or perhaps (something will happen).

Quizas is used to say maybe (Like saying: luckily, hopefully)

Although this isn't the clearest, I hope it helps a little, I've just always understood the difference, and never really tried to strain to figure it out.

It's quizá and quizás.

Don't forget your accents.

English: perhaps, maybe, could be --- It could be that he's just tired. Maybe he's awake. Perhaps he's not going to make it today.

Spanish: tal vez, quizá, chance, --- Tel vez puedo ir mañana. Quizá va venir el martes. Chance voy a la fiesta el sábado.

Chance hay más palabras como éstas... tal vez; O quizá éstas son las únicas palabras que hay para comunicar esto.Perhaps there are more words like this... maybe; or it could be that these are the only words to communicate this.
