"Qué estás haciendo?" What are you doing?

I tried Rosetta Stone too. Spanishdict is better and free.

I doubt that you would find "doing"/"did"/does" (as main entries) in an English dictionary either. The usual custom is to treat such forms under the general heading of the infinitive.

Did you mean in lesson 10, level 1, unti 1? The question mean s "What is the boy doing" and the answer is "The boy is swimming" At least this is what I think, but you are right Haciendo is not in any spanish-english dictionary I can find.

There are or were some places in the lessons where hacienda/haciendo are misspelled. - 0074b507, Sep 10, 2009

I also had trouble with this word. Haciendo is in a lesson of rosettastone. As near as I can tell it means "Doing" as it's other form, hacer, means "to do".

Well, now who's looking stupid for not searching previous posts. red face

I wish I had seen that this same question was just asked in another post. And talk about coincidences " hacienda" is used in our flashcards so when he said lessons I made a wrong assumption.

I see that we are talking about Rosetta Stone lessons, not ours. I give up. At least the other post didn't mention "hacendar".

The more I think about it, you may, indeed, be looking for haciendo and the reason that you can't find it is that it is not a verb infinitive.

Look here for the Spanish gerund , ing form of the verb, or the present participle or whatever they list it under: hacer see bottom of page

.

There is also a conjugated form of the verb hacendar that fits the bill, but I don't recall seeing that in the lessons.

You are misspelling it. Try hacienda.

(haciendo is the gerund of hacer, but hacienda is in the lessons. Did you see it in the flashcards?).

If you need the definition in English, try our dictionary. hacienda
