An adjective is a word that describes a noun (e.g. the big dog).
adjective 1. (color)
a. turquoise Me encanta el bikini turquesa que lleva la modelo. I love the turquoise bikini the model is wearing.
b. turquoise blue ¿Dónde compraste esa bufanda turquesa? Me encanta. Where did you buy that turquoise blue scarf? I love it.
A masculine noun is used with masculine articles and adjectives (e.g. el hombre guapo, el sol amarillo).
masculine noun 2. (color)
a. turquoise El turquesa se ve muy bien combinado con blanco o naranja. Turquoise looks great when combined with white or orange.
b. turquoise blue El turquesa es mi color favorito, pero pienso que no se vería bien en las paredes. Turquoise blue is my favorite color, but I don't think it would look good on the walls.
A feminine noun is almost always used with feminine articles and adjectives (e.g. la mujer bonita, la luna llena).
feminine noun 3. (semiprecious stone)
a. turquoise La piedra del anillo es una turquesa, ¿verdad? The stone on the ring is a turquoise, isn't it?
