intransitive verb phrase
An intransitive verb phrase is a phrase that combines a verb with a preposition or other particle and does not require a direct object (e.g. Everybody please stand up.).
a. to press charges
La señora ha aceptado no presentar cargos si le pides disculpas por haber tomado el dinero.The woman has agreed not to press charges if you apologize for taking the money.
b. to file charges
El fiscal no ha decidido todavía si va a presentar cargos o no.The district attorney hasn't decided yet whether he's going to file charges or not.
