1. (step by step)
a. little by little
Hemos pasado una época muy difícil, pero, poco a poco, las cosas están volviendo a la normalidad.We've gone through a very rough patch, but little by little things are going back to normal.
b. gradually
Llega el otoño y poco a poco los días se van haciendo más cortos.The fall is almost here, and the days are gradually getting shorter.
c. bit by bit

2. (not so fast)
a. steady on
A ver, poco a poco, que me estoy haciendo un lío. ¿Quién te dijo qué?Now, steady on! I'm getting confused. Who told you what?
b. slow down
¡Ey, poco a poco, que aquí si alguien se equivocó fuiste tú!Hey! Slow down! It was you, not me, who made a mistake in the first place!
c. easy does it
Así no, que vas a romper el papel, poco a poco.Don't do it like that or you'll tear the paper. Easy does it.
