USAGE NOTE
The adjective “noventa y un” is used instead of “noventa y uno” before masculine nouns and “noventa y una” is used before feminine nouns.
An adjective is a word that describes a noun (e.g. the big dog).

b. ninety-first (ordinal)

A masculine noun is used with masculine articles and adjectives (e.g. el hombre guapo, el sol amarillo).
