This refers to an idiomatic word or phrase for which there is no word-for-word translation.

No se dice una palabra de nosotros en los periódicos. Ganar un torneo de hockey no es importante para ellos.There's no mention of us in the newspapers. Winning a hockey tournament is not important for them.
