1. (with a mop of hair)
a. long-haired
Le dijeron al joven melenudo que debía cortarse el pelo si quería trabajar ahí.The long-haired youth was told that he needed to get his hair cut if he wanted to work there.
This means that the noun can be masculine or feminine, depending on the gender of person it refers to (e.g. el doctor, la doctora).
2. (person with a mop of hair)
a. long-haired guy (masculine)
Un par de melenudos vinieron a buscarte, Pedro.A couple of long-haired guys came looking for you, Pedro.
b. long-haired girl (feminine)
¿La melenuda que está ahí es tu novia?Is that long-haired girl over there your girlfriend?
