1. (relative to mechanics)

Sacó la carrera en ingeniería mecánica y ahora se especializa en sistemas de ventilación.She got her degree in mechanical engineering and now she specializes in ventilation systems.
2. (without thinking)
a. mechanical
Siempre dices lo mismo como respuesta mecánica.You always just give the same mechanical response.
This means that the noun can be masculine or feminine, depending on the gender of person it refers to (e.g. el doctor, la doctora).
3. (profession)
a. mechanic (automotríz)
Mi hermano es mecánico. A lo mejor podría arreglar tu carro a buen precio.My brother is a mechanic. Maybe he could fix your car for a good price.
b. fitter (industrial machines)
Trabaja muchas horas como mecánico y fabrica máquinas muy complicadas.He works really long days as a fitter, and he manufactures very complicated machines.
c. repair man (masculine)
¿Llamas al mecánico? Se ha dejado un destornillador aquí.Would you call the repair man? He left a screwdriver here.
d. repair woman (feminine)
Ya vino la mecánica y nos dijo que la fotocopiadora está funcionando perfectamente.The repair woman already came and she said the photocopy machine is working fine.
