An adjective is a word that describes a noun (e.g. the big dog).
1. (evil-doing) a. criminal El policía hizo su misión librar el barrio de los jóvenes malhechores. The police officer made it his mission to rid the neighborhood of criminal youth.
This means that the noun can be masculine or feminine, depending on the gender of person it refers to (e.g. el doctor, la doctora).
2. (wrongdoer) a. criminal El malhechor tenía un pasamontaña y una pistola. The criminal was wearing a ski mask and holding a pistol. b. delinquent Los malhechores escaparon del banco en una furgoneta blanca. The delinquents escaped from the bank in a white van.
