A feminine noun is almost always used with feminine articles and adjectives (e.g. la mujer bonita, la luna llena).
1. (pound)
a. pen
El lobo hambriento merodeaba alrededor de la majada de cabras.The hungry wolf prowled around the goat pen.
b. fold (for sheep)
El pastor contó las ovejas en la majada y se dio cuenta que faltaban dos.The shepherd counted the sheep in the fold and noticed that there were two missing.
2. (animal excrement)
a. manure
Los granjeros juntan la majada y la utilizan como fertilizante.Farmers collect manure and use it as fertilizer.
b. dung
Alguien tiene que quitar toda la majada que hay en el establo.Somebody needs to remove all the dung in the stable.
3. (herd) (River Plate)
a. flock
El gaucho esquiló a cada una de las ovejas de la majada.The gaucho sheared each sheep in the flock.
