Usage note
Sometimes the words "línea aérea" and "líneas aéreas" are used interchangeably in Spanish to refer to a single company.
A feminine noun is almost always used with feminine articles and adjectives (e.g. la mujer bonita, la luna llena).
1. (aviation)
a. airline
Vuele con nuestras líneas aéreas y descubrirá un mundo de confort.Fly with our airline and discover a world of comfort.
Los pasajeros afectados por los retrasos decidieron demandar a la línea aérea por daños y perjuicios.The passengers affected by the delays decided to sue the airline for damages.
2. (electricity line)
a. overhead power line
Ya todas las conducciones de servicios públicos son subterráneas en nuestro país, excepto algunas líneas aéreas junto a carreteras principales.All utility lines in our country are already underground, except some overhead power lines along major roads.
b. overhead power cable
El ayuntamiento pretende enterrar todas las líneas aéreas que quedan en las calles de la ciudad.The town council intends to bury all the remaining overhead power cables on the city streets.
