b. unforeseen
El tratamiento causó un efecto imprevisto que los médicos no supieron tratar.The treatment had an unforeseen side effect which doctors didn't know how to treat.
A masculine noun is used with masculine articles and adjectives (e.g. el hombre guapo, el sol amarillo).
2. (unplanned incident)
a. unexpected event
Un imprevisto cambió el rumbo de la investigación.An unexpected event changed the course of the investigation.
b. unforeseen event
Es buena idea ahorrar por si surgen imprevistos.It's a good idea to set money aside in case any unforeseen events arise.
3. (unplanned payment)
a. unforeseen expense
Nunca tengo suficiente dinero para pagar esos imprevistos que me ocurren de vez en cuando.I never have enough money to pay for those unforeseen expenses that arise from time to time.
