An adjective is a word that describes a noun (e.g. the big dog).
1. (with child) a. pregnant Mariana está embarazada, así que le vamos a hacer una fiesta. Mariana is pregnant, so we're going to throw her a baby shower. b. expecting Lorena está embarazada y dice que es niño. Lorena is expecting and she says it's a boy.
A feminine noun is almost always used with feminine articles and adjectives (e.g. la mujer bonita, la luna llena).
2. (woman who is expecting) a. pregnant woman Le ofrecí mi asiento a una embarazada en el metro. I offered my seat to a pregnant woman on the metro. Copyright © Curiosity Media Inc.
