2. (dense)

A masculine noun is used with masculine articles and adjectives (e.g. el hombre guapo, el sol amarillo).
3. (compact disk)

El compacto está rayado y por eso el reproductor no lo lee.The CD is scratched and so the player won't read it.
4. (stereo)
a. hi-fi system
Jorge tiene en su habitación un compacto donde escucha sus CD favoritos.Jorge has a hi-fi system in his room where he plays his favorite CDs.
