An adjective is a word that describes a noun (e.g. the big dog).
1. (greedy) a. ambitious Ya había ganado millones, pero era ambicioso y quería más. He had already earned millions, but he was ambitious and wanted more. b. overambitious Creo que es ambicioso querer cobrar tanto. I think it's overambitious to want to charge that much.
This means that the noun can be masculine or feminine, depending on the gender of person it refers to (e.g. el doctor, la doctora).
