An adverb is a word that describes a verb, an adjective, or other adverbs (e.g. to run quickly, very tired).
1. (up in the air)
a. en alto
The winner paraded around the circuit, holding the trophy aloft.El ganador desfiló por el circuito, llevando el trofeo en alto.
b. en el aire
We threw out some ballast to keep the balloon aloft.Soltamos lastre para mantener el globo en el aire.
2. (nautical)
a. en la jarcia
