1. (rugged)
a. rough
Los vecinos solicitaron a la municipalidad que pavimentaran el camino accidentado.The neighbors asked the town council to pave the rough road.
b. uneven
El terreno es rocoso y accidentado.The land is rocky and uneven.
c. rugged
Para pasar por ese terreno accidentado, necesitamos un jeep.We need a jeep to cross that rugged terrain.
2. (full of incidents)
a. eventful
Pinchamos una llanta y nos quedamos sin combustible. Fue un viaje accidentado.We got a flat tire and ran out of gas. It was an eventful trip.
b. turbulent
En ese accidentado día hubo varias marchas y disturbios.There were many riots and demonstrations that turbulent day.
c. troubled
Justina tuvo una vida accidentada cuando era niña.Justina had a troubled life when she was a child.
3. (hurt)
a. injured
Dos de las cinco personas accidentadas recibieron el alta.Two of the five injured people were discharged from the hospital.
This means that the noun can be masculine or feminine, depending on the gender of person it refers to (e.g. el doctor, la doctora).
4. (hurt person)
a. injured person
Hubo cuatro accidentados en un choque entre un coche y un autobús.There were four injured people in a collision between a car and a bus.
b. victim
Vino una ambulancia y trasladó a los accidentados al hospital más cercano.An ambulance arrived and took the victims to the closest hospital.
