An adverb is a word that describes a verb, an adjective, or other adverbs (e.g. to run quickly, very tired).
1. (completely)
a. absolutely
El testigo está absolutamente convencido de que fue Miguel quien robó a la señora.The witness is absolutely sure that it was Miguel who robbed the woman.
b. totally
Los niños están absolutamente absortos en el videojuego y no tienen sueño.The children are totally absorbed in their video game and they're not sleepy.
2. (used with negatives)
a. at all
No tendrás que pagar absolutamente nada. Yo te invito.You won't have to pay anything at all. It's my treat.

1 (completamente) absolutely

2 (con negativos) not at all; by no means
