Gender Tip
Many profession nouns have masculine forms that end in o. These forms can be made feminine by changing the o to an a.
Other nouns, like periodista are invariable nouns. This means that the noun that does not change to reflect gender. The article used before the invariable noun indicates the gender of the noun.

Note that you do not use an indefinite article when stating your job in Spanish.
