Generalized tetanus, the most common form, is characterized by tetanic muscular contractions and hyperreflexia.	El tétanos generalizado, la forma más común, se caracteriza por contracciones musculares tetánicas e hiperreflexia.
Treatment was initiated with endovenous calcium and vitamin D derivatives (calcifediol 266 µg/24h and calcitriol 2 µg/24h), with which the tetanic manifestations disappeared after 48 hours.	Se inició tratamiento con calcio endovenoso y derivados de la vitamina D (calcifediol 266 µg/24h y calcitriol 2 µg/24h), con lo que a las 48 horas desaparecieron las manifestaciones tetánicas.
Besides this result, there were provided experimental data to sustain, in the first place, the development of a vaccine combined with diphtheric and tetanic toxoids; and in the second place, a conjugated vaccine that could induce protection in children under 5 years old.	Adicionalmente al presente resultado, se aportan datos experimentales que pudieran sustentar, primero el desarrollo de una vacuna combinada con toxoides diftérico y tetánico, y segundo una vacuna conjugada que pudiera en principio inducir protección en menores de 5 años.
