Otro roedor bastante común y muy conocido por el uso de su carne es la guanta (Cuniculus paca), parecida a la guatusa pero más grande y con líneas blancas pintando su cuerpo.	Another rodent in plentiful supply in the forest, well known for the use of its meat, is the paca (Cuniculus paca), similar to the agouti but larger and with white lines painted along its body.
Mientras que los mamíferos son difíciles de ver, en algunos momentos hemos visto en la reserva de El Monte: guatusa, tigrillo, venado, guanta, cabeza de mate, coatimundi, perezoso, y monos capuchinos de frente blanca.	While mammal species are difficult to see, over time we have spotted on the El Monte reserve; agouti, ocelot, red brocket deer, paca, tayra, coati, three-toed sloth, and white-fronted capuchin monkeys.
