La Chepa
Patricia Troncoso, who went on a hunger strike for over 100 days in Chile to protest her imprisonment for starting a fire in Mapuche territory - which she claims to be innocent of - has been given the nickname "La Chepa." Dictionaries translate this word as "hump" or "hunch" or "luck." Does anyone know the significance of this term, which is apparently one of admiration in this context'

"La chepa" comes from the saying "subírsele a la chepa" which means "to rise to the occasion."
