How does the "speak" part work?

First I want to preface this by saying that this is a great site, and any glitches are easily overlooked by me by the fact that you offer a LOT for free. It is a lot of fun and everyone involved should be commended.
My question: is the "speak" part working for everyone else but me? I have a microphone, but nothing happens for me there.

No, the Speak part has not been functioning correctly for some time now (search previous threads). Simply construct what you would have said had it been working, check the "I have completed the speaking exercise" box and click submit. You will receive the 150 points for the section. If you wish to hear your pronunciation of the lesson use another program like Windows Sound Recorder which is a very simple and very easy to use program.

I am having the same problem. when I press the button to speak nothing happens, its almost as if the button is dead and unresponsive. It shows no sign of being pressed at all. So I am unable to do the speaking part. - t131313, ABR 30, 2010
I might add so far everything else I click on responds. It appears to me it is not a microphone problem, the microphone can't activate until the button to begin speaking clicks down so you can start to record. It appears to be problem with the website - t131313, ABR 30, 2010
