Hola, me gustaría mucho conocer a gente que habla español aquí, creo que si estudies una lengua extranjera tienes que tratar de expresar tus pensamientos en solo esta lengua; espero que mejoraré mi español en futuro, los tiempos no son facil pero creo que encontraré amigos que me ayudarán

Hola everyone, Im pretty new as this but i have pick up a couple of things just from being around latin american people and having latin american friends. So with that being said I hope to speak spanish instead of spanglish (english and spanish at the same time.)very soon. Ill take it one day at a time.

This actually reminds me of a James Bond movie I watched some time ago that started supposedly in Spain, where some "Spanish" policemen shout "¡No se mueven!", which means "They are not moving!". Obviously they meant to say "¡No se muevan!", meaning "Don't move!". When I and some of my Spanish friends heard it, we didn't even understand why the "Spanish policemen" were shouting "They are not moving!", until we realized that they got the mood wrong, because some retard[del]ed[/del] in Hollywood just screwed up the whole thing, knowing that no one would complaint about a crappy translation. Very sad!
That is hilarious! And as you say, sad. I have seen/heard similar things in TV/movies. What's even worse are the subtitles, both English to Spanish and vice versa.

"Tiene" would be a description, such as "I can see that you have a good day". To wish someone a good day you have to use subjunctive: "Tenga...".

Nona, I think scootervp was just trying to get people to use this thread to try to write in spanish. Do your best, I've seen people write a few spanish words a sentence and the rest in English. No te preocupes!
How can I speak in Spanish only when I don't know how yet''? That was why I came to this website thinking I was going to get to learn it.
