It seems that more people frequent this sub-forum than the proofreading sub-forum so I'm going to post these here. Don't think of it as proofreading think of it as Grammar proofreading and since this is the Grammar section there shouldn't be a problem. Gracias!!! cheese

It is necessary to lower the heat halfway through the cooking process.

Do I have to download a program in order to type tildes (on/ into the computer)?

Get out of the car quickly or you will be late to school!

Pablo proofread them but I'd like another proofreading to compare to his.

It is necessary to lower the heat halfway through the cooking process.

"Cocina" is kitchen or cuisine, but not cooking. My suggestion to correct it:

... a la mitad mientras se cuece.

Alternatively, if you want to make it more like the original sentence (ie. without saying "you"), you can say:

Do I have to download a program in order to type tildes (on/ into the computer)?

Perfect. You could add a "me" and say "bajarme" if you want to make it sound as if it is you who does all the work (and you want it to be more colloquial, that is). Of course, you don't neeed this "me".

Get out of the car quickly or you will be late to school!

It is perfect, but in spoken Spanish it is slightly more likely that people will say "bájate". I would explain why, but I have to go now. Don't worry about it.
