Please, what is the translation for 'reburbished' in this context?

We offer completely refurbished apartment homes.
Beautiful 1 Bed Apartment Completely Refurbished to a very high standard.
Completely refurbished modern four bedroom apartment London.

It means 'remodelado'? And what about 'a furbished apartment'?

Apartamento remodelado=refurbished apartment? (without furniture')
Apartamento amoblado=furbished apartment? (with furniture)

Thank you

I think refurbished means things like new stove and new refrigerator and things like that not necessarily furniture (i.e. couches and desks).

Don't listen to what I said earlier I wasn't thinking.

Its the same here as it is in Colombia

Speaking from the country that gave America it´s English, hehe, the Oxford concise dictionary quotes "furbish" as follows,

1) remove rust from, polish, burnish,
2) give a new look to, renovate, revive (something antiquated)
It says nothing about "new" other that giving a "new" look to.

With regards to "refurbish"

1) brighten up
2) restore and decorate

Over here, refurbishment would normally be taken as improving the structure of a building, flat, room etc. If furniture is involved in the refurbishment then furnished or refurnished would be mentioned as an additional item.

I would like to see other authoritative replies because a friend of mine from USA told me that a refurnished apartment has no furniture.

By the way, in Colombia, is not common to buy or to rent apartments with new/non-new furniture. Is it common in other countries? Thank you.

Are you sure you're not confusing refurnished and refurbished?

I'm not sure where your friend is from in the USA, but I have never heard the term "refurnished." According to Merriam-Webster online, "refurnished" means "re-furnished" or, furnished again. It defines "furnish" as: "to provide with what is needed; especially: to equip with furniture." So I don't see how a "refurnished" apartment can be without furniture! If I heard someone say "a refurnished apartment," I would think he was implying that the furniture in the apartment had been replaced with new.

A refurbished apartment, on the other hand, is one that has been remodeled, and can be either furnished or unfurnished.

Sorry for the confusion. It was my mistake. I was looking up for 'refurbished' and I think I found the answer: 'renovar', e.g. 'Apartamentos renovados' or 'Una cocina renovada', 'hicimos renovar la cocina/ el apartamento', although it's not so common to see in our local ads, e.g. 'Hermosos apartamentos renovados', but I think that is the word. Or perhaps, we can use 'remodelado' also. Thank you all.

It means they put new furniture in the room. For example: They had to refurbish the room because a small fire occurred there.

Furbished means with furniture

Refurbished means with new furniture

Evening, Ty.

I don't know where you are from, but everywhere I've been in the US that I have heard the word "refurbished," it didn't have to do necessarily with furniture.

According to Merriam-Webster:

refurbish - to brighten or freshen up: RENOVATE
furbish - 1) to make lustrous: POLISH; 2) to give a new look to: RENOVATE

I had never heard of the word "furbished" before, so I looked it up. According to my English dictionary, it means practically the same thing as "refurbished." I think most English speakers in the US would be confused by the word "furbished," wondering if you meant "refurbished" or "furnished," which is the word I think you were looking for for the apartment with furniture.

furnished = amueblado/amoblado
