Continúa negar que estuve implicado en la pelea, pese a que hay una cantidad abrumadora de las pruebas contra él.

Don't ask me why it is said this way. I know very little about grammar. Someone else will have to explain all that technical stuff to you. I just fixed your Spanish. Sorry. Thanks robert but isn't your correction just a rewording. Instead of "He continues to deny" you wrote "He continues denying".
