Que pasa holmes?
I need help with this translation: que pasa holmes?
At first I thought that ''holmes'' refered to a person (as in their name), but now im not so sure? Maybe the person who wrote it mispelt a spanish word? Is there a spanish word that is close to ''holmes'' that would fit with this sentence?
Thanks in advance

It's borrowed by Chicano gangs from a contraction in African American slang for "home boy," which refers to a "hometown boy." Homeboy, shortened to homey or homes.
I agree with ocbizlaw (and Miguel) It is the chicano version of the african-amerian slang homeboy or homie. Sometimes it sounds more like homes, and others more like holmes. Depends on the speaker. Very common though.
Are you sure it is not a slang word (i.e, "homeboy / homie") with a bit of spanglish'
I will agree with Mothley. NO such word in Spanish, slang or otherwise.
Where did you see it.?
Sherlock Holmes & Dr. Watson are what comes to my mind.
