"Preparatorio" in Mexico roughly corresponds to High School in the U.S. I think it starts a year later and only lasts 3 yrs. Not sure if that's any help.

I take it you looked up the word "preparatory" and got preparatorio which basically means prepare for. Prep school as we generally refer to it in England, is a private school from the ages 6 to 13 years.
