What constitutes a rhyme in Spanish?
Just out of curiosity, what constitutes a rhyme in Spanish? Is it the same as in English? Also are there any other stylistic techniques that vary from English to Spanish poetry? For example, does Spanish poetry use alliteration or assonance? Are there other literary techniques we don't use in English'

I suppose it just depends on what I'm writing... lol!
Do you have an example of both'
"Consonante" is when all sounds are identical after the stressed vowel; "asonante" when only the vowels match.
By the way, "escribidor" is used nowadays to mean "bad writer", quite derogatorily; if you just mean "writer", it is "escritor".
Alliteration and assonance? Is there a language that doesn't use them?

What is the difference between asonante and consonante? I'm guessing that the first is a rhyme of vowels, while the second is a rhyme of consonants. How are they used in a poetic context'

Yes, they have rhyming in Spanish, though with regards to the rest of your questions, I am not as sure.
Though wikipedia does have this to say about rhyme (in Spanish): http://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rima_(poesía)
