Hola,
I looked "casa de cambio" in the dictionary, and I could not find anything. Does anyone know the exact translation of "la casa de cambio'"

Hola, Katie:

Consider where you saw this and put the location into language perspective. When I read what you asked, two things came to mind. They were:
1. - Casa de cambio = house of change.
Perhaps at a beach, swimming pool of lake resort, it would mean "Change House" where you get out of your street clothes and into a swim suit. or
2. - Casa de cambio = "change" house. If you were a traveller or tourist looking to exchange, say, US Dollars to Mexican Pesos, or to exchange large denominations of money, say, 10.000 Pesos to smaller bills/units, a "change" or exchange house could do that. But I think (I am not sure) that such a place would be called a "Bureau de Cambio", "Bureau de change" or perhaps "Oficina de cambio".

On a guess, I would go with number 1. above. Casa de cambio = Change room, change house or beach house.

Now, probably a better Spanish speaker will post an entry telling me not to guess.
Or if I'm very lucky, they will say "I think he's got it!".

Oh oh! No sooner had I posted this than I saw two of my most trusted sources for Spanish had already replied. Give them a lot of thought, Woajiaorobert and Heitor are both Spanish speakers by mother tongue.

Best regards,
Moe

A "casa de cambio" (or "caseta de cambio") is a place where you can buy or sell foreign currency (in small amounts, like tourists do).
