How would you say "Southern Methodist University" in Spanish?

Fiesta en la Universidad......at least that' s what I hear, lol.....

I am wondering where you heard this.

My understanding is that "fiesta en la Universidad" means "party in the university".

It's hard to link this translation to what Katie was asking for.

I suspect that it was offered as a comment (on the school) rather than as a translation. A "party school/college/university" is often used to refer to institutions with somewhat lax entrance requirements and equally lax requirements for graduating. (in other words, one can spend one's time there partying [rather than studying] and still receive a diploma).

Just a reminder that there is a school of thought that states that proper names such as these should not be translated but used in their original language.

Southern is 'del Sur', but sometimes you can also say 'sureña'.
In this case it should read: 'Universidad Metodista del Sur'
