I used "viajar" because it was part of the exercise, but I like the verb suggestions.
Oops! Sometimes Lin it pays to let us have this information when you post. Context is so important when posing questions.

El verano pasado viajé a puerto Rico con mis amigos. Fuimos a un castillo viejo or Visitamos un castillo viejo y sacamos muchas fotos.
Yes Eddy is right. It also sounds better if you use the verb ir = fuimos or visitar = visitamos rather than viajar .
Yeah Eddy has 3000 and I don't even make it to 300. Oh wait I did make it to 300.

Now that´s an even better variety of verbs.
Just a small point and I am sure Robert realises this. He has obviously retained your original text but it sounds better if you were to say "viajé a Puerto Rico con mis amigos". You have already demonstrated the use of viajar in the first person preterite so there is no sense in doing it twice.
WOW Eddy: You have 3000 posts. I truly thank you for all your help and patience.

I´ve only just noticed that myself. Thanks for pointing it out.
Thanks! That's all great advice!
You should always avoid repetition in writing as it can become quite boring.

Or maybe you should say: Viajamos a un castillo viejo y sacamos muchas fotos.
It's plural, you and your friends sacaron fotos.

Sacar is not regular in the first person preterite. Your sacé should be saqué.
Looks good to me.
However "El último verano" does not sound correct to me (a beginner). "último" sounds like the "final, the last ever ... I think "El verano ha pasado" sounds better to me. I can be completely wrong. Maybe just "El verano pasado".
